Product Description:

BiotSavart calculates the magnetic field resulting from general 3-D configurations of current-carrying conductors. It has proven useful in the design of superconducting and copper coil systems. Conductor types include current loop, thin and thick solenoid, racetrack coil, and filamentary wire of arbitrary path. The magnetic field can be calculated along any path and graphed; or on any plane surface to give a contour plot; or in a volume to produce level-set or arrow plots. Field plots are updated as you modify the conductors.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.5 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

BiotSavart ReviewBiotSavart + Etch-A-Sketch = Super Etch-A-Sketch! - Version: 4.0.11, 12/18/2007 11:34PM PST

Clams McShrew
My Granddad Potts and I had managed to attach small USB motors
to the control knobs of my son's Etch-A-Sketch.
We were hoping to use the Mac to make computer generated Etch-A-Sketches.
But the process of coding a fully functional app to control the knobs
and render what we draw on the computer screen, onto the screen of the Etch-A-Sketch
turned out to be a little more involved than we anticipated.

Enter Biotsavart!

Thanks to Biotsavart, and to the paramagnetic particles that "draw" on the screen of the Etch-A-Sketch,
by simply inserting tiny bifilar coils inside the red box, and wiring the coils to USB cables,
after a little electronic tinkering,
we were able to automatically create amazing and awe-inspiring Etch-A-Sketch drawings and creations
way beyond anything we'd ever seen before.

For now, we are calling our modified device, the Super Etch-A-Sketch h and hope to exhibit photos of our creations at a local gallery.

Thank you Ripplon Software!
BiotSavart rocks!
