Product Description:

SmartSound Sonicfire Pro is the first-ever music solution with "Mood Mapping" for dynamically matching the mix and feel of music to the changing moods of any production. Built with SmartSounds patented technology, Sonicfire Pro gives visual storytellers unprecedented control and flexibility over their music scores resulting in unlimited creative options right from their video editing workstation.

With a new multitrack mixing interface and added support for the latest SmartSound Multi-Layer Music, editors can orchestrate sophisticated music tracks that would otherwise require a professional music editor or composer. The intuitive design of Sonicfire Pro 4 delivers instant access to professional music mixing and editing results while keeping advanced features easily accessible for complete control of your music score.

What's new in this version:

sports new music timing controls and searching feature. Coinciding with the release of six new Strata Series multi-layer music discs, Sonicfire Pro 5 builds on its Mood Mapping feature with new enhancements that make it possible for any editor to match the timing of a score with events in a production. Users can grab a beat in a piece of music and drag it to a nearby edit point or other key event in their video without changing the rhythm or overall length of the score. SmartSound believes this is the first time such a capability has been available for prerecorded music, says Kevin Klingler, president and CEO of SmartSound Software New control over the timing of the music section changes helps editors create dynamic music that matches the pace of their scenes, he says. Also added to this release is the ability to adjust the tempo of any SmartSound music track while maintaining its customization control.

Sonicfire Pro ReviewNice but needs to add the APPLE look n feel - Version: 4.5, 5/5/2007 06:21AM PST

Truth w Christ
I highly recommend this application. The only feature I believe is a must have is the ability to align in the "TIMELINE" both video and audio. As it is you must view a lower left Video window and look up to see your audio time-line. This needs to be more like FCS where the Video and Audio are aligned across the time-line. A little more FCS seamless integration would also be beneficial - ie - your working in FCS - you desire to use SonicFire for an audio track - you simply "control-click" select SonicFire , and it opens (along with FCS) in a window.

Still highly recommended.

Sonicfire Pro ReviewLove this app... - Version: 3.1.2, 10/27/2003 03:19PM PST

MacPress
SFP in its latest version has not only been rock solid for me, but a ton of fun. I actually went back and put new music on old movies and they are better now. I am always running iMovie and iPhoto stuff but I hated dealing with the audio - before SFP. I am d/l'ing this update now and I'm in Panther so I'll post anything should problems arise. I somehow doubt it. <g>
