Product Description:

Project Calculator is a very easy to use tool that helps you tracking the time you work on your projects. It is meant for small projects which don't need a fully featured project management system. You can manage several projects at the same time. You can start a timer when you begin working on a project, pause timers and stop them when finished. All timer data can be edited any time. The software also features filters, reminders using Growl, tagging of timers, flat fee entries and export to different formats (such as PDF, CSV or text). Upgrades from version 2 are available for $9.99.

What's new in this version:

  • Durations and total wages are now calculated using the active filter
  • Completely changed searching: Entries are now filtered instantly while typing. Search field moved to the toolbar.
  • Improved details drawer
  • Project Calculator now remembers the selected quick filter when quitting.
  • Fixed some UI issues within the timer entry editor
  • Fixed a possible crash
  • The configured reminder interval was interpreted as seconds, not minutes
  • If a paused timer was stopped, the pause entry would not display in the pause editor.
  • Number of running timers was not always displayed correctly in the dock icon.

With this release, Project Calculator has matured. For projects with a fixed hour rate, and the need to run simultanious timers (very nice e.g. when more than one person is working on the project at the same time) this app is perfect! With the new feature to add and stop project entries from the main window and the added preference settings, this app has replaced my other favorite project timers.

The generated report is pure text, so no fancy tables or formatting - which makes it perfect for an email.

Project Calculator ReviewSmall and simple - Version: 1.3, 8/8/2006 02:22AM PST

If you need a project timer that without the bloat, than this is for you. Create projects and add entries with a description, and duration or a timestamp.

The GUI is very stright forward, however it feels a little awkward to leave a dialog box open the way it does while timing a new event, but apart from that everything is as expected.

The generated project report is simple and text based, which makes it perfect for an email, but not as a standalone report to the customer.

I recommend this to everyone that things On the Job falls a little short, and iBiz is a little too much. It is a prefect and free replacement for SambucusX (discontinued) if you know that project timer.
