ImageWell 3.5.2 (Mac OS X)

Not worth the money.

Okay when free, but not worth $20. [alert admin]

USB Overdrive 10.4.8 (Mac OS X)

Would no longer recommend this.

I used to recommend this to customers. I purchased a Macally iLaser that with their software has terrible control on pointer speed, it's either slow or hyper speed on the next notch up, so I tried this. This does not work. 10.5.2 G4. It seems it hasn't been updated since before 10.5 yet it gives 10.5 as a requirement. I installed and had to do a keyboard restart and a Safe Boot. I am left handed and after swapping left and right button functions I no longer had any mouse click function. Buyer beware. [alert admin]

BitTorrent 4.4.1 (Mac OS X)

Agreed, BT is trash now.

Tried Bits on Wheels instead, got rid of the dropping and not finding peers problem. Went from 5-15k d/l speeds with BT, eventually dropping to 0 as it lost peers, to 40-90k on the same torrent with Bits on Wheels. I thought it was my machine, it was BitTorrent. I felt tip-sy a ways back to the tune of $25 US, sorry I did now. It seems they have dropped the ball on development. [alert admin]

iEye Captain 0.8.3.4.beta (Mac OS X)

Not quite ready yet but looks like it will be handy when it's ready.

EyeTV 2.0, 10.4.4, MDD dual 867, plenty-o memory and HD space. iEye does look kind of like 2.0 but can't compare to the standard iTunes look of 2.0. It seems buggy. I could not see a way to add a schedule or edit a schedule directly in it. Adding an item to a playlist doesn't appear to be drag and drop as it should be, and I see no way to add a recording to a playlist other than going through EyeTV and then reloading iEye Captain. Every time I click on an Info button the iEye main window goes away never to come back until I relaunch it. The Edit button, or contextual menus Edit doesn't seem to work well at all for Schedules other than Select all or Duplicate Schedule. If I go to "Edit with EyeTV" nothing happens, like a lot things do in this. Edit does work for recordings by bringing up EyeTV. It know you put a lot into this, I respect the work of developers, but I can't see this beta being worth $20. With it's current state, and no Help menu, but add it's potential, I'm Neutral on it at this time. At least from my trying it out I wouldn't do it due to all the bugs I encountered. Maybe it's because I'm on 2.0 of EyeTV? You do say it is supposed to work with it though. It has a lot of potential, it's just really non-functional right now for me in its current state. Data Rescue 3.0b (Mac OS 9)

Jeff Mincey-First off…

it does run under X, what do you mean hoops? I downloaded, decrypted, dragged folder to HD and ran. A typical X install. Also your HFS, UFS question is in the FAQ's. Having a bad day? [alert admin]

Something's Wrong

Same here, I have to keep restarting BT to get new peers, it keeps dropping them. At initial startup it finds them, but the peers will eventually drop off to 0 and the only way to get them back is restart BT. Glad it's not something on my end with my system. Thx.
