Floola 3.1 (Mac OS X)

I wouldn't buy this software at this stage. But it is great for a freeware program. Communist jerkwads at Apple try to prevent you from syncing your ipod at home and at work. So this software is a hero in that it lets you load music off your pod to your work computer. Its not as organized as itunes but it works basically the same. The two programs cant be running at the same time. Whatever you do DO NOT LET FLOOLA 'set up' your ipod to "work correctly" with floola. Its a BOOSHWACK! Do not seek the treasure! It will only jack around all your album artwork so that your often played Celine Dion song will have the album artwork of your not-so-often played Whitesnake. Which is kind of funny if you think about it, but no good if you don't want that happening. I recommend this for mac users at home and work. Its not perfect, I wouldn't pay for it but it does bypass the Che Guevera Apple Maggots limitations on computers that you can sync an ipod with. This thing crashed on my Quad core Using OS 10.4.11 multiple times. I was only downloading one torrent but the instability of this software has made me want to use something else. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off "uploading". It appears to be stuck on open permanently. [alert admin]

Safe Eyes 3.0 (Mac OS X)
AOL-like system interference...NOT good for Macs ![]()

This is AWFUL software for the MAC. If you have a Mac, DEMO THIS FIRST. Don't be like me and check it out for a couple days then jump into year-long subscription boat. Give this thing an ENTIRE demo so you have time to surf and see what applications it starts to mess with. First, it acts like AOL, taking over the Mac system in areas where it does not need to. For instance, the program shuts off after a few minutes of what it calls "inactivity" thereby, disconnecting you from the internet, even if you are using broadband! It does this by hijacking your connection to begin with, you cannot connect without signing into Safe Eyes. The amazing thing is, if you are working on your computer and are making a crucial graphics or video adjustment, this silly software pops up ON TOP OF WHAT YOU'RE DOING! just like AOL used to do. Secondly, it has a box to click that says "remember my name and password" you click it, it does nothing. NOTH-ING! It does not remember anything I've ever entered, EVER. You have to sign in over and over and over everytime it disconnects you (just like AOL-except that at least AOL remembered your name and password in the later days). Also, it blocks sites for no damn reason whatsoever, like cigars? forgettaboutit. All cigar sites are blocked from the get go. Like to play online flash games or interactive games? Forgetaboutit, it will block all the game sites and EVEN ESPN fantasy football because the software interprets that as "online games" when it is actually statistics checking. As someone else posted, it blocks ebay, shutterfly, and many other useful sites. Yes you can go in and add an * next to the website for "allow" but who wants to do this for a thousand different sites a thousand different times!? Also, if you do 'allow' a site. I've found that site will never operate properly after that. I still cannot view flash files on youtube consistently. The site just acts like it is loading forever and never plays. Any flash video sharing site is blocked entirely whether there is adult content or not. No problem, find the good sites, type them in to "allow" in the admin panel with an * and then??? Bamn! no workie! My whole system works far slower after having installed Safe Eyes. When I try to shut off my system, Safe Eyes blocks it and tells me I must "Quit Safe Eyes" which I do and then it just simply pops back on again all by itself...I click "quit" back on it comes! preventing a proper shutdown of my mac. Its annoying and more trouble than its worth for the money. I am going to investigate other internet filter systems for my company and try to get the remaining amount of my money back. Studiometry 5.1 (Mac OS X)
Why is this software an 'editor's pick' ????
This is obviously a very fluky program with way too many issues to even encourage a DEMO download, my question is, why has Versiontracker.com named this as an "editors pick" that really shakes my confidence in the editors of vt.com. Usually their picks have been pretty good. This software needs a MAJOR overhaul and I'd hope that Orange would see fit to hear the complaints of its customers and take care of them. [alert admin]

This thing is slower than molasses uphill in the winter time. Takes forever to load the map into the system. It is not intuitive. I'm still trying to figure out how to put together a run route and then have it export to my ipod. Its already crashed a couple times on me. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and from the looks of the interface, I'm probably not going to figure that out anytime soom. Looks very simple and basic but with no help offered on how to make this thing go, its no estarle me gustan. [alert admin]

It didn't kill my ipod but it does jack up my album artwork and farqs it all around. But a quick sync on my main mac at home fixes er right up.

Since when is it appropriate for a software publisher to criticize a reviewer and take it so far as to request they remove their review!? Insane. If one of us has trouble understanding the software, I would say that is the problem of the developer not the user. Software for the Mac needs to be dumbed down as much as possible because we live in a dumbed down generation. Video Production Las Vegas http://www.hiproductions.com
