MozoDojo 2.3.0 (Mac OS X)

installed fine but crashed first time

I installed version 2.3.0 on my MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 and the software started up fine. However, about 10 seconds into the first run, it crashed as it was analyzing my iPhoto library (which totals about 5,800 photos). [alert admin]

All2MP3 1.03 (Mac OS X)

no choice of output file name or location

The product works on a MacBook Pro running OS10.4.11. However, it doesn't let you choose a name for your new mp3 file or a location. It simply uses the same name as the input file, but changes the extension to .mp3 and places it in the same folder as the input file. Also, if you convert the same .wav file twice (say, with different "quality" settings), the second mp3 file will overwrite the first without warning you (because the input filename and location were the same). Proportions 0.1.2 (Mac OS X)

Works like it's supposed to

You give it A, B, and C, in the expression A:B = C:D and it calculates D for you. You can set the number of decimal places in D from 1 to 9. No other features though..... a simple app that does what it says it does. [alert admin]

ChessPuzzle 1.4.1 (Mac OS X)

Excellent free widget

This is a great widget! The developer is working quickly to give it more and more features. This latest version says 1.4.2 on it when you download it (not 1.4.1). I disagree with the reviewer who said that most of the puzzles seem to call for sacrificing your queen. Try randomly selecting a puzzle instead of going in order. Also, look at all 5 collections of puzzles. I would recommend to the developer to place the word "widget" in the short blurb that appears in VersionTracker. Thanks for a great program! [alert admin]

Bookdog 1.2.0 (Mac OS X)

cannot save changes until you pay

Take note that you cannot save any changes you make to your bookmarks the first time until you pay the $9.95. If you wanted to just try out the software to see how it works, but didn't necessary intend to pay for it, you might not want to go through all the steps involved when making choices by hand (e.g. choosing which file of your duplicate pairs you want to delete, etc.) Also, note that the $9.95 is for 3 years and is good on a maximum of 2 different machines. Shinyubin H17-04-28 2.0 (Mac OS X)

extremely useful

This will save me a lot of time. The program is basically a shorthand for typing Japanese addresses in Japanese. You type the ZIP/postal code and Kotoeri gives you the corresponding address on one line (in Japanese kanji, in the order it should appear on an envelope) as one of its outputs. Of course the user has to add the exact numbers of the address, but this program gets you right down to the neighbourhood (e.g. "machi") and eliminates the need to find and type the correct kanji in the address. Also, you may have to search down through the output choices that Kotoeri gives you to find the address. When I use it, the first ten choices or so are simply other styles of writing the 7-digit ZIP code. Great piece of freeware! [alert admin]
